Course Description:

Maybe you’ve gotten to the top of a climb and in an adrenaline-fueled fog thought ‘jeeze, I could go up again.’ Maybe your buddy took you up a multipitch route and you felt uncomfortably dependent on them leading and rigging. Or, maybe you’re ready to take incremental steps to transition your climbing from the crag to the alpine. Multipitch sport school will begin to bridge the gap between single pitch sport leading and traditional and/or alpine climbing. Topics will include but not be limited to belaying from above, multipitch anchors, swing and block leads, multipitch rappelling, and basic bailing techniques.

Climbing is an inherently dangerous sport. The course is intended to help students develop new skills that safely stretch their existing abilities. Like all Spokane Mountaineers classes, active participation and preparation will allow students to get the most out of the curriculum.
